Here's Diocletian's Palace (hey Sam!). What's cool is how Split has evolved with the place. Rather than segment it off and display them like any other Roman ruins, the city has continued to inhabit the space within the two thousand year old structures. Diocletian picked an amazing spot for his summer/retirement home but now it's even cooler because its full of trendy boutiques and neat bars. Our hostel is located across from the Silver Gate and today China and I walked up to the bell tower, a 20th century addition, but a choice spot for views of the orange roofs and Mediterranean.

You guys look wonderful and are amazing. The blog detail is terrific; the pictures are wonderful; and a most fascinating thing I've noticed is how you manage to wear different clothes (except the hat J Michael) in every snap-shot. And I thought you were traveling lite. Enjoy Berlin, keep smiling and stay safe.
ReplyDeletelove ya!!
Hey GUYS! Thank you so much for taking some of those pictures of the palace. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking about establishing my summer estate in Split as well. The city looks fantastic! Where are you off to next? after Berlin? On a more sad note, no Mermaid parade...it rained and I had to work. Keep it UP!!
